How soon? A month? A week? How soon in advance should I do a trial run of hair and makeup?
I'd say 3 months! Because if you dont like what the stylist did, you might have to find someone else, and what i they are all booked up, and you have to wait 2 weeks for an appt? So i think its never too early. How soon in advance should I do a trial run of hair and makeup?
I think that by 3 months before it is a good idea to have at least an idea of who you want to go to, if not trials and day of scheduled. If you start any later than that, you risk having to settle. Also, try to plan your hair and make-up trial for the morning before your first dress fitting, that way you can see how your whole look will go together and if you want to make changes you still have time. I'm not positive, but i think that first fitting is generally 6 to 8 weeks before your wedding day. So if you find someone by three months before, you can schedule the trial for about 8 weeks (2 months beforehand).
you could technically do trial runs as soon as you have your dress picked out and decided whether or not you want to wear a veil and if yes, what style. Also, knowing what kind of jewelry you plan on wearing could also help. I would say at least 3 months in advance though, just in case you don't like it, or you need to let your hair grow for a certain style. It's also nice to get it out of the way before you're swamped with other things to do. And don't forget to take pictures so you and your stylist/artist know what you expect to look like on your big day as well.
If you have a stylist you trust, I wouldn't do it more than a week or two in advance. That way, he/she can remember exactly what they did that you liked.
If you are looking for a new stylist, I would go a few months beforehand so they don't get booked up. Have them take very careful notes of what you like.
I would say 3-4 months ahead of time. During that time you will also need to factor in hair growth (about 1/4 inch per month), and schedule a trim as well or decide if you want a complete hair makeover (new color, cut, etc).
My neighbour is gettin married on June 21st, and she had her first hair and make up trail on Wednesday just gone. It all just depends on how you're planning your wedding. If you're taking your time or if it's all one big mad rush xx
If you're getting married in 37 days now! I'm getting married in September and I'm looking into that right now.
