How did they do hair&makeup in the 80's?

i am going to an 80s dance soon, and i have NO idea what to do with my hair or makeup. i am wearing a hot pink dress and sparkly jewlery and some colorful jewlrey, if this helps.

the hair was usually in a side ponytail but you tease it


or if you have short hair curl it then tease it


if you have bangs do a big curl in them

I wouldent do the obvious and re-create old styles they used to wear. What I would do is take one of the styles and do your own modern interpretation of it. Id do a crazy faux hawk and wild makeup.
Big! Bigger the better. Think a southern beauty pageant and you'll be perfect. :-)





*Oh! and shoulder pads!! It was hideous but we just didn't know any better :-)
ill i have to say is if i sat behind one of them 80s girls i would have to make a scene cuz i could not see over there hair......i always wonder what people did in that situtation

First of all, blue eyeshadow is so 80's! Just wear mascara and eyeliner and then do a smoky eye in blue! As for the hair, try crimping it, or putting it in a high side ponytail.
